Incandescent lamps unless specified otherwise, shall be of bi-pin G.L.S. type complying with IEC 60432, IEC 60061 and IEC 60064 and shall be guaranteed for a minimum of 1000 hours life at the rated voltage. They shall be ‘pearl’ type for open type or louvred type of luminaires and ‘clear’ type for totally enclosed type of luminaires. Unless otherwise specified or approved by the S.O.’s Representative, coolicon shade, bulkhead and globe luminaries shall be as specified below: –
(a) Coolicon shade luminaires shall be completed with ceiling rose,lamp holder, incandescent lamp and suspension cord of not less than 0.75 sq. mm 3 core flexible cord.
(b) Bulkhead luminaries shall have the body made of pressure diecast aluminium and provided with removable knockouts for conduits/cable entry. The diffuser shall be anti-vandal polycarbonate. A neoprene gasket shall be provided to seal the diffuser to the body so as to ensure the luminaries is weatherproof. The lampholder shall be BC porcelain type. A heat resistant sleeving shall be provided to protect the incoming cable.
(c) Globe luminaries shall have 203 mm diameter satin etched white glass sphere complete with screw neck. The base shall be of porcelain. The lampholder shall be BC porcelain type. The lamps used shall be 60 watts tungsten filament lamp rated at 230/240 volts complying with MS 7.
